Mustangs Make Blockbuster Deal

The Melfort Mustangs have acquired the final piece to the puzzle for the opportunity of a long playoff run and maybe at this point push for first in the SJHL’s Bauer Conference.
The Mustangs have acquired Melville Millionaires Captain Brayden Metz for future considerations. Metz is 9th in SJHL scoring with 16 goals and 34 assists for 50 points in 34 games so big pick for the Mustangs who have made a statement that they want the Credit Union Cup and more this year.
With getting Metz the Mustangs will have pretty much two captains in the locker room with him and Captain Owen Roschuk, it’s unknown if he’ll get an “A” at this time. Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Darrell Mann is going to talk to the team today about it if he does he probably won’t have it until either before or after their southern road trip in Weyburn, Notre Dame and Estevan.
Mann says Metz will be in the line-up against Yorkton tomorrow… Metz has been a Terriers killer this year during the weekend when he was a Millionaire he had 5 points in two games so he bring alot to the table for the Mustangs.

Manner was hoping to put him with Brody Haygarth which would be a great combination down the road who would be the third man on that line? Conner Bradshaw had played with him at times, Nick Angelo could be there but I like him with Mireau and Aschim. Possibly a Owen Roschuk moves to the wing or a Kyle Trendyle the possiblities are out there. When the Mustangs went through their line shuffling phase there was growing pains but now it seems anyone can play with anyone at any given time.

This team just alot better and Yorkton and La Ronge better be ready for it cause a defense core like there shutting down names like Cholfi, Breitkreuz or Carre, Lindensmith or Eggum it’s gonna be tough to break the armor then after that you have to score on Charles Corsi a MVP candidate. Mustangs play Yorkton tomorrow at 7:30 at the Palace Webcast at 7:20-25 ish. Yorkton in Nipawin tonight should be a good one at the cage hopefully will try to make it for that one.
